an Opalite Pyramid and a Tiger-Eye Sea Turtle. Each carving measures
approximately 3/4" to 1" depending on the type of carving. These little

a pretty carving of a Stegosaurus Dinosaur made from Opalite. It measures
2" x 1". This is a nice, unique carving that would make a nice
gift. Opalite is a trade name for a man-made precious opal imitation.
It is usually made of glass or resin. Man-made or not, it is definitely
a beautiful "gem stone" and one of my personal favorites.

This is a nice gemstone carving of a Turtle made from Pink Rose Quartz.
It measures 1 7/8" x 1". This Turtle has a very soft Pink color with
very light White accents. Rose Quartz is a type of Quartz which exhibits
a pale pink to rose red hue. The color is usually considered as due
to trace amounts of Titanium, Iron or Manganese, in the massive material.
Some Rose Quartz contains microscopic Rutile needles which produce an asterism
in transmitted light.

Here is a nice gemstone carving of a Cat made from Hematite. It measures
2 1/4" in height and 1 3/8" in width. This cute little Cat would make
a great addition for the cat collector or carving collector. Hematite
is a mineral form of Iron oxide. It is a very common material that has
a black to steel to silver-grey color and may also appear reddish brown.
Hematite is a heavy metal and when it is polished it is consider to many to
be of gemstone quality. It is very popular in jewelry and Native American
art.

This is a nice gemstone carving of a Frog made from Howlite.
It measures 1 1/2" in length by 3/4" height. This is a cute carving
to add to your collection. Howlite is a soft and sometimes
brittle gemstone. It is usually white or colorless. It can be
translucent in thin fragments. It is associated with Colemanite, Ulexite,
and Bakerite and is found in Borate deposits. It is usually dyed to
simulate real "Turquoise" in jewelry.

This is a very nice, very pretty Snowflake Obsidian Pig. It
measures 1" x 1 1/2" and has a nice polish. Item will be similar to
photo.
Obsidian is a rock which is a type of naturally occurring glass that
is produced by volcanoes when felsic lava cools rapidly and freezes without
sufficient time for Crystal growth. It is an extrusive igneous rock.
Because Obsidian lacks Crystal structure, the blade edges can reach almost
molecular thinness, leading to the ancient use of arrow heads and the modern
use of surgical scalpel blades.

is a nice, larger gemstone carving of a Frog made from Green Aventurine.
It measures 2 1/4" in length x 1" in height.
Aventurine is a form of Quartz that is characterized by its translucent
and mineral inclusions that give it a shimmering or glistening effect called
"aventurescence". The most common color is green but it may also be
orange, brown, yellow, blue or grey.

Here is a very nice, really unique Panda Bear carving made from Black Agate.
It measures 1 5/8" in length and 1" in width.
Agate is a term applied not to a distinct mineral species, but to an
aggregate of various forms of Silica, chiefly Chalcedony. Agate is found
in many colors and designs.

This is a very nice Triceratops Dinosaur carved
from Picture Jasper. It measures 2 3/8" x 1" and has a nice polish and
sheen. A nice addition to a carving collection or a good pocket piece.
Jasper, or spotted stone, is an opaque, impure variety of Quartz that is
usually red, yellow or brown in color. Picture Jaspers simultaneously
exhibit several variants such as banding, flow patterns, dendrites or color
variations. This results in what appears to be scenes or images in a
cut section of the Jasper.

is a carved Dalmatian Stone Frog. It measures 1 1/2" in length by 3/4"
in height. He is very cute. Dalmatian Stone, or orbicular Rhyolite,
is an igneous rock that was formed by lava flows on the Earth's surface.
The spots or "orbs" probably occurred when molten lava reacted with fragments
of rock known as Xenoliths. These stones are light to dark tan in color
with black spots throughout. The nickname "Dalmatian" was given to this
unusual looking mineral because of its resemblance to a Dalmatian dog's spots.

This is a nice carving
of a Tyrannosaurs Rex made from Fancy Jasper. It measures 1" x 2"and
has a nice polish. This an unique carving with an interesting design
on both sides. It would make a great gift.
Jasper is an opaque, impure variety of Quartz that is usually red, yellow
or brown in color. Jasper can appear as an opaque rock with shades of
red due to mineral impurities. Patterns can arise from the formation
process and flow patterns in the sediment or volcanic ash that was saturated
with silica which formed the banding or swirling designs in the rock.

Unakite is an altered Granite composed of pink Feldspar, green Epidote
and clear Quartz. It exists in various shades of green and pink and
is usually mottled in appearance. Good quality Unakite is considered
a semiprecious stone and will take a good polish and is often used in jewelry
and other lapidary work such as eggs, spheres and carvings.
