as Citrine or "burnt" Amethyst. It occurs in color from a light, slightly
pinkish violet to a deep grape purple. It is widely distributed as a
mineral, but fine, clear specimens that are suitable for cutting as

Onyx is a banded variety of Chalcedony which in turn is a form of
Quartz. The colors of its bands range from white to almost every color
except shades of purple, blue and black. It is used for vases, bowls,
beads, cabochons and other items. The name has sometimes been used
incorrectly to label other banded lapidary materials, such as banded
Calcite. This type is found in Mexico and Pakistan and is often carved,
polished and sold. The material is much softer than true Onyx and much
more readily available.

Geodes are geological rock formations which occur in sedimentary and

generally Limestone while the interior contains Quartz Crystals and/or
Chalcedony deposits. If the Geode is completely filled with Crystal, being
solid all the way through, it is then called a nodule. |

This
is a 5oz bag of Peridot crystals. These would make a great
mineral specimen or an arts and crafts project.
This is a similar to like item.
Peridot is one of the few gemstones that occur in only one color, an
olive green. The intensity and tint of the green, however, depends on how
much iron is contained in the crystal structure, so the color of
individual peridot gems can vary from yellow- to olive- to brownish-green.
The most valued color is a dark olive-green.
