Some of the stones that may be included in the mix is Carnelian, Picture Jasper,
Snowflake Obsidian, Tiger-Eye, Sodalite, Unakite, Crystal Quartz, Rose Quartz,
Dalmatian Stone and others. Item
will be similar to the picture.
Note: These range in size from approximately 3/4" to 1 1/4" in
size and they will average 35 (+ or - a few) polished gemstones per pound.

Here is some very nice, smaller
pieces of Peacock Copper Ore. Each piece measures approximately
1/2" to 1" in size with the total approximate weight of 1/4 lb
(about 8 pieces). We
offer a good variety of color, size and design. Unfortunately, there
is NO choice in specimens as we bag the pieces up straight from the box.
The set would make a great educational tool for scouts or schools.

Peacock Copper Ore is a Copper Iron mineral that is closely related
to Bornite and Chalcopyrite. Although it is sometimes confused with
Pyrite, Peacock Copper is a mixture of Copper and Iron whereas Pyrite is an
Iron derivative.

Here are some very nice pieces of
Native Copper Ore. This is natural native copper from Michigan that
has been processed and cleaned in a Ball Mill which removes the rock that
was attached to the copper ore. You will receive 3 pieces of copper,
each one
measuring approximately 5/8" to 1" + in size.
Each piece is brightly colored and has its own character. Unfortunately, there
is NO choice in specimens as we bag the pieces up straight from the box.
This is a great educational tool for scouts or schools.

This is natural native copper from Michigan after it has been
processed through a ball mill to remove the attached rock that it was
formed in.

These are Fossil Fish Knightia from the Eocene Age from the
Green River Formation, Lincoln County, Wyoming.
The picture at the right is representative of the
fish you will receive. These specimen's are approximately 2 1/2"
x 3". This fossil fish lived some 50 million years ago. They are found in
a light colored Limestone.

Here is a set of three Moqui
Marbles. They measures approximately 1" to 1 3/4"
You will receive one set of 3 Moqui Marbles. Unfortunately, we are unable to
give a choice of specimens but we do promise a good selection.
Moqui Marbles are found at the base of Navajo Sandstone and are
thought to be about 130 to 135 million years old. They were once mollusks
which were trapped in a hug flood of sand, their bodies were pulled
from the inside of their shell to the outside leaving their centers
hollow. Through the years, water and sand filtered through their centers,
filling them with fine sand while the water would deposit its iron around
the outer shell. |

Here is a set of three fossilized Sand Dollar.
These specimens vary in size from 3/4"
to nearly 1" in diameter. You will receive one set of 3 Sand
Dollars. Unfortunately, we are unable to
give a choice of specimens but we do promise a good selection.
This species of Sand Dollar is "Clypeasteroida" They are very
beautiful specimens and have nice detail. They are from Majanga,
Madagascar and lived in the Jurassic period some 146 to 200 million years
ago. |

Here is a really neat activity for kids. This is a Bubble Rock.
It is a Limestone mineral that is found in Western Utah. This kit provides
an indoor rock garden any time throughout the year. When White or Clear
vinegar is added, tiny White Aragonite crystals appear and gradually place
themselves to form clusters of pure White blossoms. The process can
take 2-3 weeks and the directions are on the back of the package. I
did this project with my 7 year old son and he just loved it.
