EGG402c  Here is a very nice, high quality Fluorite egg.  The egg measures 2 1/4" x 1 5/8" and has a nice polish.  This egg has a beautiful darker Green color with an interesting design.  A most unique egg that is sure to please.

Fluorite, also referred to as fluor-spar, is a mineral composed of Calcium Fluoride.  It is a widely occurring mineral found world wide and is often found with metallic minerals such as Galena, Sphalerite, Barite, Quartz and Calcite.  Fluorite may fluoresce strongly in ultraviolet light which may be due to the presence of some impurities such as Yttrium.  Blue is the most common color but red, purple, green, yellow and white are also frequent.  It is used as a source of fluorine for hydrofluoric acid and for the fluorinated water.  It can be used in high performance telescopes, camera lens, enamels and in the making of opalescent glass as well as gemstone carvings..

EGG408b  This is a very pretty, beautifully colored Poly Chrome Jasper egg with a very interesting pattern.  It measures 2 1/4" x  1 3/4" with a nice polish.  This material is from India.  This is something different for the egg collector.

Jasper, or spotted stone, is an opaque, impure variety of Quartz that is usually red, yellow or brown in color.  Picture Jaspers simultaneously exhibit several variants such as banding, flow patterns, dendrites or color variations.  This results in what appears to be scenes or images in a cut section of the Jasper.

EGG414c   Here is a nice Septarian egg from Madagascar.  It measures over 2 5/8" x 2" and has a nice polish.  This egg has a nice mix of soft Yellow Calcite and Brown Aragonite.  A true beauty.

Septarian, also know as a type of Concretion, is a volume of sedimentary rock in which a mineral cement fills the porosity.  Concretions are often ovoid or spherical in shape.  They form within layers of sedimentary strata that has already been deposited.  It is composed of a Carbonate mineral such as Calcite, a Silica such as Chert, Flint or Jasper or an Iron Oxide such as Goethite or Hematite.  It is commonly found in Shale, Siltstones and Sandstones.

EGG410b  Here is a very nice, smaller Amethyst egg.  It measures nearly 2" x nearly 1 1/2" and has a nice polish.   The egg is super cute and has a very beautiful light Purple color.  The egg has nice sparkly white accents with an unique Amethyst design.  A very nice egg for any collection!

Amethyst is a purple variety of Quartz often used as an ornament.  Upon exposure to heat, Amethyst generally becomes yellow, which some refer to as Citrine or "burnt" Amethyst.  It occurs in color from a light, slightly pinkish violet to a deep grape purple.  It is widely distributed as an ornamental stone, but fine, clear specimens that are suitable for cutting are used in jewelry.

EGG407b   Here is a very pretty Carnelian egg.  This egg measures over 2 1/2" x 2" and has a nice polish.  It has a great color and design. This material is from Peru.  A great egg to add to your egg collection or give it as a gift.

Carnelian is a red or reddish-brown variant of Chalcedony but also may come in the colors of orange and pink.  It is quite common and usually found in translucent pebble form.  It is found in several areas of Europe, Iceland and Madagascar.

EGG405c  This is a very pretty Ocean Jasper egg.  This beautiful material is found underwater, along the coast of Madagascar.  It measures 2 1/4" x 1 3/4" and has a very nice polish.  This egg has a Green base with a shaded White and Pink colors, the ever popular Ocean Jasper "eyes" and a frosty design. The egg also has several sparkly crystal cavities scattered throughout.  Just nice!

Ocean Jasper is a variety of Jasper which contains variable colored orbicules or spherical inclusions.  The material is quite attractive when polished and is used as an ornamental stone or gemstone.  The colors and designs range widely and are dependant on the location of the material.  Similar material can be found in several areas of the United States.

EGG411b  This is a very pretty, larger Blue Celestite egg.   This egg measures 4 1/4" x 3 1/4" and has been hand cut into the egg shape.  The interior cavity has several larger, sparkly medium Blue Crystals of different sizes. The back side of the egg has been coated with a clear sealant to prevent external and internal damage to the egg as this material is very delicate and fragile.  The egg weigh almost 2.25 lbs.

Celestite is a mineral form of Strontium Sulfate which is a metal.  The metal is mixed with Carbon and Sulfur which is used for the red "fire" in fireworks, flares and road signals.  Celestite occurs as Crystals and in compact massive and fibrous forms.  It is mostly found in sedimentary rocks and is often associated with Gypsum, Anhydrite and Halite.  Pale blue Crystal specimens are found in Madagascar.

EGG401c This is a nice Yellow and White Marble egg.  The egg measures nearly 2 3/4" x 2" and has a nice polish.  The egg has a unique design and color blend.  A super starter egg for the new collector.

Marble is a metamorphic rock resulting from the recrystallization of pre-existing rocks due to changes in heat and/or pressure and/or introduction of fluids without melting.  It is composed mostly of Limestone and Calcite.  Marble is used extensively for sculpture, building materials and other applications.  Picasso Marble is found in Utah and is identifiable by its striking and dramatic combination of browns, blacks, grays and white colors and each piece is uniquely different.

EGG406c This is a very pretty Carnelian egg from Madagascar.  This neat egg has nice contrasting deep Red and Orange colors in a beautiful design with a good polish.  It measures 2 3/4" x 2 1/8".  A very nice egg for any collection.
