EGG402b  Here is a very nice, high quality Fluorite egg.  The egg measures 2 1/4" x 1 5/8" and has a nice polish.  This egg has a beautiful Green color with an interesting design.  A most unique egg that is sure to please.

Fluorite, also referred to as fluor-spar, is a mineral composed of Calcium Fluoride.  It is a widely occurring mineral found world wide and is often found with metallic minerals such as Galena, Sphalerite, Barite, Quartz and Calcite.  Fluorite may fluoresce strongly in ultraviolet light which may be due to the presence of some impurities such as Yttrium.  Blue is the most common color but red, purple, green, yellow and white are also frequent.  It is used as a source of fluorine for hydrofluoric acid and for the fluorinated water.  It can be used in high performance telescopes, camera lens, enamels and in the making of opalescent glass as well as gemstone carvings..

EGG408c  This is a very pretty, beautifully colored Fancy Jasper egg with a very interesting pattern.  It measures 2 1/4" x  1 1/2" with a nice polish.  This material is from India.  This is something different for the egg collector.

Jasper, or spotted stone, is an opaque, impure variety of Quartz that is usually red, yellow or brown in color.  Picture Jaspers simultaneously exhibit several variants such as banding, flow patterns, dendrites or color variations.  This results in what appears to be scenes or images in a cut section of the Jasper.

EGG409b   This is a very pretty, beautifully colored Poly-Chrome Jasper egg with a very interesting pattern.  It measures 2" x  2 1/2" with a nice polish.  This material is from Madagascar.  The egg has an unusual design almost resembling a landscape painting.  Definitely a one of a kind egg.  Remember there is only one!

EGG414b   Here is a nice Septarian egg from Utah.  It measures 2 1/2" x 2" and has a nice polish.  This egg has a nice mix of soft Yellow Calcite and Brown Aragonite.  A true beauty.

Septarian, also know as a type of Concretion, is a volume of sedimentary rock in which a mineral cement fills the porosity.  Concretions are often ovoid or spherical in shape.  They form within layers of sedimentary strata that has already been deposited.  It is composed of a Carbonate mineral such as Calcite, a Silica such as Chert, Flint or Jasper or an Iron Oxide such as Goethite or Hematite.  It is commonly found in Shale, Siltstones and Sandstones.

EGG407c   Here is a very pretty Carnelian egg.  This egg measures 2 1/4" x 1 5/8" and has a nice polish.  It has a great color and design. This material is from Peru.  A great egg to add to your egg collection or give it as a gift.

Carnelian is a red or reddish-brown variant of Chalcedony but also may come in the colors of orange and pink.  It is quite common and usually found in translucent pebble form.  It is found in several areas of Europe, Iceland and Madagascar.

EGG405b  This is a very pretty, smaller Ocean Jasper egg.  This material is found underwater, along the coast of Madagascar.  It measures 2 1/2" x 1 3/4" and has a very nice polish.  This egg has a White base with a shaded Green color, the ever popular Ocean Jasper "eyes" and a frosty design.

Ocean Jasper is a variety of Jasper which contains variable colored orbicules or spherical inclusions.  The material is quite attractive when polished and is used as an ornamental stone or gemstone.  The colors and designs range widely and are dependant on the location of the material.  Similar material can be found in several areas of the United States.

EGG411c  This is a quite interesting Stromatolite egg.  It measures 2" x 1 1/2" and has a nice polish.  The egg has an unique botryoidal pattern and good color mix.  This material is from Peru.  Something different for the collector!

Stromatolites are one of the oldest known fossils.  They are commonly thought to have been formed by the trapping, binding, and cementation of sedimentary grains by microorganisms, especially blue-green algae but very few actually contain fossilized microbes.

EGG410b  Here is a very nice, smaller Fluorite egg.  It measures 1 3/4" x 1 1/4" and has a nice polish.  This material is from China.  The egg is super cute and has a very light Green color.  The upper portion is fairly clear with an unique opaque design.

EGG401b This is a very nice Yellow and White Marble egg.  The egg measures 2 3/4" x 1 7/8" and has a nice polish.  The egg has a unique design and color blend.  A super starter egg for the new collector.

Marble is a metamorphic rock resulting from the recrystallization of pre-existing rocks due to changes in heat and/or pressure and/or introduction of fluids without melting.  It is composed mostly of Limestone and Calcite.  Marble is used extensively for sculpture, building materials and other applications.  Picasso Marble is found in Utah and is identifiable by its striking and dramatic combination of browns, blacks, grays and white colors and each piece is uniquely different.
