 This is a very pretty, beautifully colored Poly-Chrome Jasper egg with a very interesting pattern.  It measures 1 3/4" x 2 1/4" with a nice polish.  This material is from Madagascar.  This is something different for the egg collector.

Jasper, or spotted stone, is an opaque, impure variety of Quartz that is usually red, yellow or brown in color.  Picture Jaspers simultaneously exhibit several variants such as banding, flow patterns, dendrites or color variations.  This results in what appears to be scenes or images in a cut section of the Jasper.

EGG504b  This is a pretty Kambaba Jasper egg.  It measures 2 3/8" x 1 3/4" and has a nice polish.  The egg has a super cool Green base with Black eyes (orbicules or spherulites) which make this material very fascinating.

Kambaba Jasper is a sedimentary stone that is made from fossilized blue-green algae.  This algae plant  was fossilized with sand and debris giving the unique design and patterns. The name is a newly invented for a material that has been around for a long time.  This material is from a new formation that comes in many variations.  It has been called Nebula stone but it is not Nebula stone but a very similar material from a different area and a totally different composition.

EGG506b   This is a pretty Rose Quartz egg from Madagascar.  The egg measures 1 7/8" x 1 3/8"and has a nice polish.  It has a soft Pink color and some very beautiful iridescence.  Just right for the egg collector.

Quartz is the second most common mineral in the Earth's continental crust.  It is mainly composed of Silica or Silica based minerals.  Although Quartz is known by a variety of names, the most important distinction between types of Quartz is that of macro-crystalline, individual crystals visible to the unaided eye, and micro-crystalline, where aggregates of crystals are only visible under high magnification.  There are many forms of Quartz including Chalcedony, Amethyst, Citrine, and Carnelian which are results of mineral impurities or heat treatments.

EGG508c  Here is a very nice, very pretty Amethyst egg.  It measures 2" x 1 1/2" and has a very nice polish.  This egg has a very nice Purple color with an unique, interesting pattern and design.  A super cool egg.

Amethyst is a purple variety of Quartz often used as an ornament.  Upon exposure to heat, Amethyst generally becomes yellow, which some refer to as Citrine or "burnt" Amethyst.  It occurs in color from a light, slightly pinkish violet to a deep grape purple.  It is widely distributed as a mineral, but fine, clear specimens that are suitable for cutting as ornamental stones.

EGG503b  Here is a very nice, very pretty Ruby in Zoisite egg.  It measures 2 1/8" x 1 1/2" and has nice polish.  This egg has a soft Green and White matrix with several dark Fuchsia Ruby "eyes".  This design give this egg a lot of character and each one is very unique.  The material is from India.

Zoisite is a Calcium Aluminum Silicate that belongs to the Epidote group of minerals.  When it is found transparent, it is formed in to gemstones while translucent-to-opaque material is usually carved into sculptural works.  The latter sometimes has Ruby Crystals which are completely opaque and unsuitable as gemstones, but are well colored and contrast strikingly against the green matrix of the Zoisite.  Zoisite may be green, blue, brown, pink, yellow, gray or colorless.

EGG501b  Here is a very interesting find!!  This is a very nice, smaller Ocean Jasper egg.  It measures 1 1/2"x 2" and has a nice polish.  This one of a kind egg has a light to dark Olive Green base color with Peach "eyes".  The egg has a very distinct White accents and a super cool design.

Ocean Jasper is a variety of Jasper which contains variable colored orbicules or spherical inclusions.  The material is quite attractive when polished and is used as an ornamental stone or gemstone.  The colors and designs range widely and are dependant on the location of the material.  Similar material can be found in several areas of the United States.

EGG502b  This is a very pretty, darker colored Carnelian egg from Madagascar.  It measures 2 1/8" x 1 1/2" and has a very good polish.  The egg has a nice Red-Orange-White color mix and the very common "Agate" design.  A good addition to any egg collection.

Carnelian is a red or reddish-brown variant of Chalcedony but also may come in the colors of orange and pink.  It is quite common and usually found in translucent pebble form.  It is found in several areas of Europe, Iceland and Madagascar.

EGG507c   Here is a nice Septarian egg from Utah.  It measures 2 3/8" x 1 3/4" and has a nice polish.  This egg has a nice mix of soft Yellow Calcite and Brown Aragonite.  A very nice addition to an egg or Septarian collection, but they are limited so grab it quick before it is gone.

Septarian, also know as a type of Concretion, is a volume of sedimentary rock in which a mineral cement fills the porosity.  Concretions are often ovoid or spherical in shape.  They form within layers of sedimentary strata that has already been deposited.  It is composed of a Carbonate mineral such as Calcite, a Silica such as Chert, Flint or Jasper or an Iron Oxide such as Goethite or Hematite.  It is commonly found in Shale, Siltstones and Sandstones.
