Acanthite is a common silver mineral in moderately low-temperature hydrothermal veins and in zones of supergene enrichment. It occurs in association with native silver, pyrargyrite, proustite, polybasite, stephanite, aguilarite, galena, chalcopyrite, sphalerite, calcite and quartz.

Acanthite was first described in 1855 for an occurrence in the Jáchymov (St Joachimsthal) District, Krušné Hory Mts (Erzgebirge), Karlovy Vary Region, Bohemia, Czech Republic. The name is from the Greek "akantha" meaning thorn or arrow, in reference to its crystal shape.

Mohawkite is a rare rock consisting of mixtures of arsenic and copper, usually in a white quartz matrix. Colors range from brassy-yellow to metallic gray, and sometimes will have a blue or greenish surface tarnish. These colors come from its two main ingredients, the arsenic-rich copper minerals algodonite and domeykite. Its color may resemble pyrrhotite, but unlike pyrrhotite, mohawkite is not magnetic. Mohawkite is believed to only be found in a copper mine located on the Keweenaw Peninsula of Michigan, known as the Mohawk Mine.

Arsenopyrite is an iron arsenic Sulfide and is a hard metallic steel grey to silver white mineral. Arsenopyrite also can be associated with significant amounts of Gold and often serves as an indicator of gold bearing reefs. It is often found associated with Loellingite, also spelled Löllingite and from which is hard to distinguish.
