$18.00 SEP147hb  This is a polished Utah Septarian Nodule End Cut.  It measures 4 1/8" x 3 3/4" x 1 5/8" and has been polished on the front face. This specimen has a nice blend of color and a good design.

Septarians are commonly composed of a carbonate mineral such as Calcite, a microcrystalline form of Silica as in Flint or Jasper, or an Iron Oxide such as Hematite.  These specimens are also known as a concretion which is a type of sedimentary rock.

A very nice specimen for the Septarian collector.

$35.00 SEP148hb  Here is a nice, larger Septarian Slab cut from a Septarian Nodule from Utah.  This slab measures 6" x 6" x 1/2" and has a nice polish.  It has a very well defined Yellow Calcite area that has a nice sparkly appearance.

SEP149hb  This is a polished Slab from a Utah Septarian Nodule.  It measures 6 1/4" x 7 1/8" x 7/16" and has been polished on one side. This specimen has an interesting formation of Gold Calcite that adds to the beauty of the piece. 

Septarians were formed millions of years ago by sediment forming around a fossil to create a mud ball transforming the fossil into Calcite and Aragonite.
